If you agree to purchase all your parts from one supplier you want to know what percentage they will give you off. Most suppliers will offer you a decent price if you agree to buy everything from them.

Of course you may prefer to buy your parts online or choose a different route, but there is no harm in asking. If you don’t ask you won’t get is the way it goes. Basically telling suppliers that you agree to buy everything from them for the right price will often have you enjoying the benefits.

As with any industry it’s important to keep your costs as low as possible and this is in all aspects of your business from buying tools and equipment, parts and even your insurance. Always bear this in mind and shop around for the cheapest prices and the best deals.

The profits you make need to be spread across a medley of bills from rent or mortgage to utility to paying your staff, so you need to always ensure that your business is breaking even, in the worst case scenario. Obviously the more you can save on your expenditure, the better off your business will be. It’s the same as if you were a customer looking for a vehicle repair, you will shop around until you find the cheapest option, everyone these days are trying to save every penny they can and there is no reason you cannot do this in your line of business.

Choosing to pay staff on a weekly or monthly basis rather than hourly can save you a fair amount of money, reducing your utility bills, reducing your travelling costs and reducing your insurance premiums are all ways you can improve your monthly expenditure. Taking advantage of any motor trade discounts can save you a lot of money in the long run keeping your expenditure to a minimum and giving your profits an opportunity to grow.
